| We have recently been contacted by some distant family members through the Stewart/Hastings/Franklin line that are cousins with my maternal grandmother. They have been able to provide me with information that has expanded our database once again. Antiquities Archive I have added scans of some original documents of the first Voelker to immigrate to the US, Martin Voelker, who left Bavaria in the spring of 1849. Several of Martin's original documents have been handed down over the generations and are now being carefully archived so that they may live on for generations more. The large file scans show the age and wear these documents have endured while still allowing for close inspection of the detail. Several of these documents are in old German dialects and have been translated several years ago into new German and then English. Anyone that can read the old German text is invited to help authenticate the translations. German text documents are accompanied by a version that that superimposes the translated text over the original. The Voelker family genealogy
