The document images on this page are high-res scans of original documents that have been handed down over several generations and represent an important link in the Voelker family history. The oldest of these documents are approaching 200 years old and my goal is to make them widely available in digital format while preserving the physical documents. In the future I expect to post some additional document scans but it is bellieved that these represent the oldest and most significant known to exist.

The file sizes of the images are larger than typical images on the web in order to show the detail in the original documents. As a result of their size, these images may be slow to load and may display diffrently in different browsers. The best, and safest, browser to use is Mozilla's Firefox which allows you to zoom in and out of the image so that you can see it all in one window or zoom in for more detail. Microsoft's Internet Explorer may shrink-to-fit images in your browser which may or may not be a good thing but if you use this browser you will want to turn that feature off temporarily in order to see the detail in the images. This page on Microsoft's site explains this behavior and how to disable it if you wish.
